finding security holes that contain pdf and xls files

hey im kinda new to the hacking thing im doing an assignment on hacker highschool but im not sure what to type into the search box to find security holes to get pdf files i think i did it right i got this cop thing for myspace but that was it can anyone help me out and tell me if i did it right


this is what i found when i typed in "index of myspace.pdf":

please tell me if what i did was correct and what i found was a security hole ty ty :)

not quite a security hole, just kind of explain myspace to officers who might be investigating something(not that it isn't useful information).... you basically searched for files with the name myspace.pdf

say you're looking for a specific type of file on a specific domain you would type site:domain.name filetype:extension

using your search for example but broadening it you might type site:myspace.com filetype:pdf

or if you are looking for say a access database file you would try something like this;
site:domain.name filetype:mdb you can search for pretty much any filetype on any domain.

or if you just want to digg through everything search for site:domain.name (ie: site:myspace.com) which should return every page/file on that domain, unless of course the owner of the site has blocked it from being retrieved by google.
