hey, i have a lot of experience with mac computers, but no hacking knowledge whatsoever. where should i start. (can program C++ and basic, that's about it)

Is there a list of security tools that i should have that are free or relatively cheap? Thanks for your help by the way.

If you need pro tools, google&download Backtrack Linux (it doesn't require installation), some scripting-like tools for windows are NetTools (google)
