ok guys, i'm not looking for answers i want HINTS ONLY (i prefer to figure things out on my own)
anyway, i'm looking to play a joke on my friend, you know, the kinda of one that gives that classic "O_O i've been hacked" reaction. anyway, i want a more "silent" method of connecting to his computer than telnet. what i meant is, hes tech-wise and would notice a big fat DOS window open on his screen, i prefer a method that shows no signs of entry. of course, being only mildly experienced, thats where i need help from you guys. so basically, i need a method of entry that won't show any windows popping up (unless i want it to) and also won't damage his computer permanently. also bear in mind that i have his ip address.

I suggest you to send a lot of fake packets to his computer while he playing a game. By making a similar source/dest IP on his connection so that his computer will not be able to defer the difference between real or fake. Therefore the game will eventually crash if insert random codes.
I'm sure that will give him the reaction you wanted without damaging his computer... hopefully(1 out of a trillion chance.)

haha, that sounds great, i know hes a big fan of counter strike. next time i see him on i might try that. maybe i should've been more specific though, the general idea is to get it to work the same way as telnet (but less outdated). like i mean sending strings of DOS to his computer to make a few random things happen (nothing much worse than a message on his screen or a few random txt files popping up on his desktop, little things like that.

)

There a risk that you can be exposed by him. Your IP isn't protected and even though you have a proxy, you still can be found so I suggest change your source IP.

well, when i meant tech-smart, i didn't mean smart enough to track an ip

i doubt he could discern mine from his other connections, but hes smart enough to close random DOS windows popping up. well, anyway, other than some illegal sub7-like backdoor program, is there any way to connect to his computer (preferably without needing to install anything on it, but it can be done)

Just use your IP as you have now.... and send the packet over to your friend.
Once you're done with that part, just change your router mac address. It'll change your IP by making the ISP think you have a new router.
