backtrack

not for actually usong only for wifi exploits

it can be used on a usb stick so the current os wont need a dual boot so all the hd space you want

i was sorta looking at Ubuntu, because of that feature. obviously haven't really looked linux before...been a windows guy way to long.

xp is great but there are more malicous programs for linux

but windows is better for games

more malicious for xp or linux? i was forced up to windows 7, got a new computer.
ill probably stay duelboot, that way i can still play games

backtrack is good for wifi exploits and all around "hacking"

windows is more for entertainment and if your smart you don't need to worry about security

what makes it good for hacking. not trying to ask stupid questions, hacking is such a huge umbrella it could mean anything.

it has coding programs, exploit programs, port scanners, password crackers, password auditors,wifi (as i said earlier), pretty much (as far as i know) this has everything you need if you wanted to do something bad or to test your home (like me).

pretty much all linux (right now) isnt nearly as good for entertainment

wine does assist (backtrack does have) but im not sure it can support online games like soldier front WoW and other such non sense

am i screwing anything up...i tried to download it, i exstracted it, opened the right file...turned the computer off than back on, made it so it ran off of usb. let it load. typed in startx, black screen and it said error.

Okes this is the stupid thing: All OS have a way of using the system against itself. some OS are said to be 'easier' to do this on. Sure that might be true but who ever got a brain don't believe in it.
