Remote desktop connection

Post by PaRaDoX »

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a program that does something similar to the windows Remote desktop connection program, but lags a bit less. I ask because a friend of mine has a bunch of computers lying around and hates having to boot them all up and use them individually, he would just like to have 1 terminal. If not the program, then any other solutions would be appreciated. Maybe some way of booting up all of them remotely? :3

check out this link on sourceforge.net of some open source remote desktop software

http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_ ... rch=Search

Also if all the computers are in the same location (room) he could see about getting a monitor switch (i guess thats what they call them) but it allows multiple computers to 1 monitor which he can just push a key on the keyboard ans switch to each computer. Im not sure if this is kinda what he wants to do but its an idea. Also if hes up to using a different os he can try some different linux distros that might be set up for exactly what he wants to do. There is a remote desktop for lunix that will connect to a windows computer i just cant think of the name, but it will also run in windows. If i think of the name of the program ill let you know.

yea, a monitor switch works if you can find a VGA or DVI splitter of some kind, and i think that's more to his liking than a remote desktop program. I was thinking of the same idea of linux's multiple desktops when i asked this, except with multiple computers :D

Thanks :)

If not, I'll just go nuts and attach splitter to splitter. Of course, even if it worked, probably not too safe, like chaining power bars together lol.
